Meet the Artists. Uncover a world of creative possibilities as artists open their studio doors across the Gympie region. From blacksmiths to textile artists - and everything in between -  immerse yourself in the diversity of creativity on offer along the trail. See live demonstrations, join a workshop or try your hand yourself.

  • In a hill-top setting under the eyes of the wallabies, you will find abstract art created with a passion for the juxtaposition of colour and line. Journey through Janita Kington's works and make them your story. Goomeri's famous bakery, chocolate shop, bookstore and more makes this a great day out.

  • This fascinating Museum bursts with 22,000 local historical items representing every part of local history: everything from settler's shacks to horse- drawn  carriages to farm and kitchen tools to family histories and a magnificent mineral collection. Entry to the museum is free for Studio Trail visitors.  Our volunteers are also available to carry out research into family history.

  • Welcome to award winning PesArt & Ceramics, a vibrant art and pottery studio set in scenic Pie Creek. Prue McLeod creates clay sculptures, bright functional ceramics and paintings, inspired by her love of colour, texture, form and function. 

    Clay hand-building class. Beginners welcome.

    • 1pm-3pm Saturday. $25 an hour.
    • 10am-12pm Sunday. $25 an hour

  • The Silversmith Collective covers all aspects of Silversmithing and hand-crafted jewellery. Experience a working Studio where rings, bracelets and earrings will be created each day. A range of Jewellery will also be available for purchase. Visit the Silversmith Collective at the Gympie Gem Club.

  • The Cooloola potters group brings together potters whose diversity of experiences and cultural backgrounds enriches the pottery they produce. Join the potters in exploring, the medium of clay. Visit the Cooloola Potters Group at the Jean Beattie Hall.

    Demonstrations: wheel throwing and hand-building  with clay.

    • Workshop on Saturday from 10am. $35 pp
    • Collect your fired item the following Saturday.

  • Des Spencer is world renowned for his vivid, vivacious images full of exploding energy and colour with over 35 years experience of painting and exhibiting around the world. Visit Des at the Gympie campus of the University of the Sunshine Coast to watch him create his works and join in an Intuitive painting workshop.

    • Live painting demonstrations.
    • 1 hour intuitive painting workshops 10am - 3pm.
    • No experience necessary. $50pp. Bookings required.

  • The beautiful Old Gympie Post Office has been transformed into a gallery, with ART POST facilitating exhibitions, workshops, events, and more. Come and meet the ART POST artists, view their works, and hear how artists including Painters, Photographers, Printmakers and Jewellers create their artwork.
